In this session, the following topics will be addressed: (1) Presentation of ANADEM, which is a digital terrain model (DTM) with bias removal caused by vegetation in the Copernicus GLO-30 digital elevation model (DEM), a product developed by the Hydraulic Research Institute (IPH) of UFRGS in partnership with the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA); (2) Challenges in the use of digital terrain models for the development of the Continuous Cartographic Bases of IBGE; (3) Presentation of the products developed by ANA derived from ANADEM for the whole of South America to assist in decision-making in Water Resources, and how these products helped in the delimitation of the flood extent in April/May 2024 in Rio Grande do Sul; (4) Use of DEMs by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to assist in precision navigation.
