ABSTRACT: Since 2018, advanced remote sensing technologies have been deployed on the International Space Station and independent satellites, including a series of hyperspectral sensors such as DESIS, HISUI, EMIT, PRISMA, and EnMAP. Additionally, new Earth observation orbital missions are scheduled to become operational in the near future (e.g., SBG, PRISMA2GEN, CHIME, Landsat NEXT). These sensors have enabled the acquisition of simultaneous observations of the Earth's surface with unprecedented detail. This Special Session will address the specifications and capabilities of these instruments, as well as their applications in global model analysis and the enhancement of our understanding of terrestrial systems.
