Catalytic innovations in carbon measurement to accelerate the implementation and scaling of native area restoration projects in Brazil

ABSTRACT: Projects aimed at determining carbon stock in vegetation (Measurement, Reporting, and  Verification) for establishing a voluntary market can act as catalysts for restoration actions in Brazil by  promoting initiatives for the conservation and expansion of environmental assets, with lower monitoring costs,  scalability, and transparency. Currently, remote sensing-based protocols, complementary to traditional forest  inventories, support the quantification of carbon in restoration areas or through avoided deforestation.
